The principal & mechanism of far infrared thermal scraping therapy

Scraping (Gua Sha) is an East Asian healing technique which provides rapid pain relief for a variety of conditions whether acute or chronic. Traditionally it has also been used to treat disorders such as the common cold, bronchitis and asthma.

In the treatment, special oil is applied on a particular area of the skin where the therapist starts "scraping" the area with a "far infrared scraper". Very soon the places where disorders are hidden, red bruise liked spots appear IN the skin (not ON the skin) comparable to hemorrhage.

Because the scraping is on the oily skin the patient will hardly feel pain - neither during nor after the treatment - the skin will not be damaged, and the red spots will fully disappear within 5 to 10 days. However, in some case, it takes longer to fade due to personal poor blood circulation.

刮痧的原理與臨床的意義

刮痧所刮出來的痧，看起來是微血管出血，微血管所流出來的血液，是黏附在血管內的酸黏膜，其成分多數是三酸甘油脂（TG），和高濃度、身體無法運用的膽固醇（Cholesterol）及一些微毒性(Toxin)或身體無法吸收使用的物質，還有一部分的血液(Blood)。

「痧」就是體內氣血淤積、阻塞，無法消化營養素，或無法排除的代謝廢物累積而來。一旦「不通」，病症隨之而來。這些酸黏膜平時附在血管內，會阻塞血管，影響血液流速，導致新陳代謝的障礙。漸漸的，該部就會因為血液流量降低和血液品質降低，導致酸痛。中醫認為這是血氣不順的阻塞，西醫認為是血管硬化。

藉由刮痧可以排毒、去除淤積。利用刮版的力量，在酸痛處和其上下位置，讓阻塞的血管，把附在血管內壁的酸黏質慢慢的逼到血管外面，讓阻塞緊繃已久或酸痛的部位會因此舒通，血液的流量可以快速上升。並得到大量的能量(營養)灌注，進而疏解酸痛。
